Hi,,, I just tripped over the forum and though I'd hang around for a while,,,
My home is in Wales, UK ,,,way out in the hilly bit where it's quiet,, people are self reliant and the sheep are scared.
I worked in Engineering all my life starting out as an apprentice fitter/turner in a huge steel works,, then as an Engineering officer in the Merchant Navy ,, many unremarkable engineering jobs followed ,, latterly running a small (three people) Arty Bronze Foundry. My knees eventually gave up and had to be replaced so I decided it was time to retire and the foundry was sold on. We did some good work there
My Garage,,,, ok,, so it's a bit mouldy ,, it's 500 yards from the house ,,no electricity ,, no water apart from the stuff that seeps up through the floor ,, and anything metal left there in the Fall will be unusable in the Spring. So it's a penultimate storage option before the last journey to the skip,,
My workshop,,, Lots of things happen here ,, some get finished ,, some travel down the road to the garage. Looking at the picture I can see it's a tad untidy ,, sorry
The third outhouse option,,, Next to our home is an old pig-sty/coal house/Ty Bach. Most old Welsh houses have a Ty Bach somewhere ,, translated it means small house and it was the WC or depository for "night soil" It was conveinient to have the Ty Bach next to the pigs because ,,,,,, well because,,,,,,, well ,,,,you guess!! Nowadays the house has been remodelled to include a modern bathroom/wc ,, we don't keep pigs and the coal is kept elsewhere so this area is within the curtilage of my wife and is where she keeps her garden tools and other things before their sad journey down the road to the garage for temporary storage. Now and then I forward a plan to modernise this building but my wife's vote is equal to only half a vote of mine so I have no chance!!
