I finally broke down and built myself a bench, after a near fatal accident with a grinder.... well it wasnt near fatal, but it did involve me sitting there (yes, sitting on the garage floor), thinking to myself, this is dumb, I should not be doing this, I should have a bench with a vise to be cutting with this grinder. Oh well, here goes nothing..... AWWW *&#@!

nothing to bad, just a nice gouge in my leg, but now I have a bench and vise, lol!

pics in construction...

I took it off, cause I am going to be welding on a new backbone to stiffen it up lol! Same thing with the bead roller. Plus I could not stand the neon banana yellow that it came in, it will end up being the same grey as the bench.

You had your own English Wheel, but no bench? :)

Is the square hole for a hitch receiver mount for the vise?

Nice work, btw.

Haha, yea, I just got the wheel, that same week though. Dont judge me! lol!

And yes, the hole is for the reciever, I just need to weld a couple tabs onto it so I can permanently attach it in there!

Thanks for the kind words!

Yeah, bench is nice. What kind of work you doing with that wheel?

Just starting learning basic metal shaping, and as I cant afford those expensive EWheels just yet, I figured this would be a good place to start learning.

Very nice. I'm glad you went with heavy lumber. I have one made of 2x lumber that I've been beating on for 18 years. I have a grinder wheel mounted on one end and a vise on the other.

I have already completed a couple small projects, and it's soooo much nicer with the bench and everything! Now to buy more tools to clutter the top of it lol!
