I dont think there that bad look'n in that flat black, hot rod look'n sense...... also like the spline's. But seriously.......There made in China?, even with the c-man on it? What, one side says Craftsman and you flip it over to see China? Something about that just doesn't sit well, but still look nice.

Older model brake systems on big trucks and trailers use 4 point stuff and a lot of specialty trailers (walking floors, dumps) use 4 point stuff too and its a pain in the *** to try and work those things with an adjustable so thats why i got them. I had no idea snap on had them or thats where i would have gotten them.

I had the same issue with slack adjusters so I got these extra long double box end ratcheting spline wrenches from SK http://www.skhandtool.com/Default.aspx?fusemode=10&pid=89250 They work awesome and are some of my favorite wrenches even among all of the Snap-on and others I have. I think I picked them up for 80 bucks off the cornwell truck. I know you already went with Snap-on's but I figured I would toss these out there as well.

Unfortunately, this may be the first step towards seeing more Craftsman hands tools that are made in China. There's also the two new ratcheting wrench sets that recently came out. Danaher makes most of their Gearwrench tools in China now so, I am sure there will be more Craftsman tools from China. Hell, you'll probably see some more of the Gearwrench line rebadged as Craftsman down the road. Sears will just have to drop the made in America part from the advertising "Craftsman, made in America, Warrantied Forever", wait a minute, they already have.

Whew! ... and I thought I was the only one to do that! When I first started out I purchased a Craftsman 10 drawer top box - light gray with the red drawers - just to give you a time frame. I had them bring out three of them before I got the one I liked. The Sears guys were not happy, but it was a different time back in the 70's and the Sears customer service was someting they put value into.

I do the opposite. When I buy a tool from my Snapon guy I go through his stock and find the rusty ones. They aren't bad, just spotted. I'm doing him a favor by rotating his stock for him and, after some haranguing, I get a pretty good discount for my thoughtfulness!

That's exactly what I do when I'm in Sears. One time I went through a whole row of sockets trying to find one socket that had uniform detents that were all the same size and depth.

the way i look at it is if that wrench brings out a bolt on a job... instead of me running around finding a ease out or vise grips... its paid for itself

Then again if it breaks or slips and you slice open your knuckle and need stitches it isn't such a good deal. On the other hand China appreciates the money and will use it to advance their knowledge on weapons technologies to supply weapons to hostile countries while treating their own people like ****.

How much more would it cost to make those here in the USA? How much more would you pay if they were made in the USA? Either way you're paying the difference in one way or another.
