I went , was not overly impressed.... a lot of import and rebadged stuff, normal sales flyer discounts... I did order the 7pc hose pick set and a master rethread kit... however he had an older mac mb4000 tool box set... top, bottom, side and a try...thinking of trading my old craftsman 40"top and bottom(pic of mine can be viewed through my profile.... both main boxes are fairly similar in size and condition.... biggest reason for considering a trade is the mb4000 has a full length drawer at top of bottom box and the side cabinet.... he has 1499 listed on it.... what kind of a deal might I expect.... I mean, I am not going to give mine away, but do not expect an even trade either.... would asking 1000 trade for mine be to much... what is a reasonable price for either box....

like i said, pic of mine can be viewed in my profile album paint on the mac is faded, but drawers all worked wellView media item 766

Just sold the black one similar to that one with 2 side cabinets on it for 800$ they were 2 years old.

I found with all the deals coming up on snap on and Macto box's its hard to sell craftsman box's unless you "give them away"

I am kinda in a better position than many parts of the country... the markets are still good for us both in sales as well as the shop side... have only heard of one dealership within an hour and a half of me losing its chevrolet badge... believe it will stay open under different labeling.... this has been one of the few bennifits to being in a rural area.... keep my fingers crossed...

this has nothing to do with what you are asking, but kinda along the same lines..

my snap on guy offered my friend $2000 for his harbor freight box that he bought for whatever sale price people on here are always talking about.. was basically selling a krl1023 for $6500, minus $2000 trade in on the HF box..

point being, I would shop around the other trucks to see you can get the best trade in.

or come to va and get this black krl1023 for cheap and trade your craftsman in..

would love to get something along that line... lol... but va is more than a hop skip and a jump lol...

bottom line to me, is I do not care if i get rid of the craftsman.... the box has been great for me.... but if it helps me upgrade, then hmmmm... as far as I know the snap on guy does not have much used right now... same time I need to pay down what I owe snappy for a while before i look at a major purchase through him...

Mac guy said he would look at my box next week... bad thing is I will not be there... will be in school in the twin cities all next week.... Oh well, will catch him week after lol

Yeah, things a different region to region. I don't even notice a change here. but box prices are nuts, Example

Half the time, I think it is Kijiji, that is making its stuff nuts. (non free CL competitor, started by Ebay)

Although, locally, most "name brand" boxes list at 2K or more. The lesser ones, are normally 30+ years old, without ball bearing slides, and in different states of disarray. The good cheap ones, are normally gone within minutes.
