So I recently picked up a Wera Kraftform Kompact bit driver. It's pretty nice, but I find the collar that releases the hex shaft to be REALLY stiff. For anyone that has one, is this normal?

I also did a quick two minute video of it, if you want to see what it's all about and how stiff it is too:

Trust me I've found that as things age, somethings get less stiff.

I have 3 of these but they are well used. They are certainly not that tight but I have had them so long maybe it’s a matter of them breaking in.

I purchased one with SS tools and found it to be like yours, I ordered another to replace it and had the same issue. I don't use it often so perhaps it will ease up with use.

I hope that's the case, sounds like a few people just had to break theirs in for a bit...

You know it's funny, Wera being German gets the same sort of love as Knipex, but I actually don't find their screwdrivers to be that big of a step up from anything else I've used...the tips grip nicely but the handles have little nubs from the moulding process and they aren't super stout, I can feel some flex when getting up there in torque. I might actually like my gearwrench ones better. That said, they are all going in my service bag, so seconds anyway.
