Hello everyone!!

I bought a Wera hex key set from Amazon, for me this is the best hex keys that i've everv bought. I like them much more than my old bondhus and for me the finish and grip are superior on the wera. I like my bondhus but i have some trouble with them, the wera screw better for me. Now i have a question, my model isn't Stainless steel model but is dark grey black model

I have no trouble believing you could find something about the wera you like better than bondhus.

What I am asking about is this trouble. What is this trouble you speak of? What do you mean by that?

I have a set of WERA Hex Plus and love them. I purchased them based on some feedback and recommendation on this forum. I don't have the Bondhus so can't compare.

I used Wera Hex Plus and Bondhus at work. The Bondhus were completely fine - I never broke one. But on extremely high-torque fasteners that were removed frequently, the Bondhus would eventually start to chew up and destroy the screw heads. The Hex plus were much easier on fasteners.

With the bondhus i had some problems with the screws, when i remove the screws with bondhus the hex keys don't engage the screws very well, with Wera i don't have these problems.

At work, the machines I work on only have socket head cap screws and very few cap screws. We use hex bits and hex keys daily. Our favorite so far is from PB tools. They are made in Switzerland and although not cheap, they are amazing. Have yet to replace any on a 16 plus year old set.

You are saying that the bondhus are not sized right?

Hmmm,

I work with my Bondhus's everyday and love them. I cant speak for Wera but I have had Wiha and PB Swiss and sold both of them and stuck with the Bondhus. The Wiha were too big in certain sizes (SAE) so those didn't work, they wouldn't fit inside hex sockets. The PB Swiss while beautiful, heavy and well made; they measured smaller (a couple of thou.") than the Bondhus's making less contact in the hex so I traded them for a bunch of Starrett.

I use the Bondhus Gold Chrome ball L wrenches and they have been really good and cant complain. I abuse them. I also bought another gold chrome ball set for cheap and cut them down to use them in my sockets and they hold up well to the torque. I use a tool plate on my drill press and mill and constantly cranking down hex fasteners to hold down the items I'm working on. Its very rare that it strips, usually its because the fastener is well worn and not the fault of the wrench.

Wrenches used daily will wear, some less than others but they will wear if you use them professionally. I can buy 5 sets of Bondhus for one set of PB Swiss, three sets for a Wiha. I have zero issue immediately tossing out a Bondhus if it becomes wonky, it wont break the bank and easy to replace quickly.

I recently purchased some Wera hex plus bits. They do seem to grip better than standard hex.

Vid comparing Hex plus to standard hex.

When I am dealing with Hex fasteners (and mostly in hard to reach areas) I can't risk damaging the head so my choice has been WERA Plus or PB Swiss. They both work Great no complaints.
