According to the site, they spent millions trying to get these right....

After extensive testing and an investment in the millions of dollars, Wera Tools' Research & Development experts in Wuppertal, Germany came up with the ultimate solution. A cryogenic (vacuum ice-hardening) process cools the steel. This tempers the steel in a gasless chamber, which preserves flexibility while giving tools optimal hardness and durability values.

One of the caveats relating to these tools is fairly significant:

Stainless steel hand tools should be stored separately from carbon steel hand tools and containers. Autoclaveable plastic trays can be used, for example. If stainless steel tools come into contact with carbon steel, extraneous rust contamination can occur, and passivation may be necessary.

Hey guys I am new to this forum. I in the market for quality screwdrivers that don't rust. I am a HVAC mechanic and I work on the roof top and alot of wet conditions. After reading this I am hesitant on getting the stainless set.

I think I am better off with their insulated set because I work on alot of electricity.

If you work on steel fasteners, rather than exclusively stainless, stainless drivers will offer very little advantage over regular chromed tools.

Personally I'd use insert bits in a good quality insulated (if necessary) handle, give everything a quick squirt of WD40 before putting it away, and throw the bits away when they get too crapped up. As far as I am aware, Wera don't sell an insulated driver that takes standard bits. But [broken record]Wiha[/broken record] offer the #38016, which would seem ideal, at US$32.
