How are they not even close to the Zyklop? I have both and you'd like to tell me there is a massive difference? The main difference is the three locking positions of the Zyklop whereas a Roto ratchet has tighten screws (but not locking). The Wera feels even less durable or well built when compared to a Tekton or HF Pittsburgh Pro or even a Titan version. I'd even say that the Zyklop feels cheap compared to the Taiwanese roto ratchets, sure it's Czech COO but the spinner doesn't work so well and it's not a huge difference. You shouldn't make such general statements (and I'm glad to call that out because I've got experience with both).

i am kind of with you. i have played with a zyklop but never actually "used" one. i am sure it is a fine ratchet but other than the locking feature i don't see much advantage to any other roto type ratchet. especially one with properly adjusted forks to hold the head. i think maybe some people are caught up in the fact that it is wera and has the classic handle. if that is your thing then fine, i have some other wera stuff and it is good but not that much better than anything else.

funny thing, i like a locking flex head and prefer that but they generally are not as easily adjustable because of the design.

I was looking at the Titan, then found the thread with the comparisons, and am now going to be buying my first Icon tool, despite my opinion that they're overpriced. Reviews suggest that the Pittsburgh Pro 1/4" roto-head is nice, but the handle shape is annoying -- and that the Icon handle and overall design is superior. Tekton's got the same handle, and I like the walk-in-walk-out warranty process for HF, considering that it's ~10 minutes from home.

We'll see, I don't need a 1/4" roto ratchet, but I'm interested enough to try it out. I won't be too upset if it's the first tool purchase I've made that disappoints me, the rest have been above and beyond satisfactory as a whole so what's one mistake in the grand scheme of things?

This one can be an alternative although it doesn't have the angle locking like other roto wrenches. Still, it is better mechanism to change ratcheting direction at any angle, IMO.

I prefer QR feature on my ratchets and few swivel head ratchets have them. Off the top of my head I know WERA, HF, TEKTON, TITAN, VESSEL. Anyone else can think of others?
