Cripe Distributing on Ebay is going to be your best source. They were discontinued from Sears probably a year ago. IIRC typical going rate was $125, so $140 from Cripe isn't too bad. Of course, some people got killer deals when Sears closed them out.

Is the model that Cripe is selling on eBay the earlier "rounded" top back end, or the later wholly square back end?

The picture really doesn't tell, unfortunately. :(

Received mine from Cripes. It is the earlier model with round top back end.

I bought one this morning. Apparently the listing expired, but they relisted the last vise.
Does anyone know what the Wilton part number is?

Received my vise from Cripe today. As d4dawg said, it's the early round back model which is what I wanted. I already have the square back model and wanted the round back just to have both, though the square back looks a little beefier to me. This vise came in excellent condition and as usual, was covered in grease, so I spent about an hour cleaning and dismantling to remove the metal filings from inside, though mine hardly had any! The jaw alignment is perfect! No complaints at all, and it will be very convenient to now have vises in two different locations of my garage!

Edit:
One thing I noticed today is that the front below the handle is also round vs. square. I never noticed that before in photos, as everyone has always focused on the round vs. square rear area of the two models.

Here is the round casting older version and the Wilton 1745. As you can see, they are not exactly the same. The craftsman has a square lower casting where the Wilton is round.

Both are great vises.

Anyone seen these available recently? I tried doing some looking around on eBay and sears but haven't found any.
