Not to hijack the thread, but I had to laugh at this comment. That library has been being built for what seems like 5 years now! I'm in the const equip rental industry and we have been supplying equipment there for quite sometime now!

Back on track, the barn looks awesome. I can't wait to hear how the foam board insulation works out for you as I am considering similar to get some r value, but sandwich the foam between the ship lap exterior siding and the wide pine boards on the inside keeping the beam faces exposed. Hard to explain what I am thinking, I'll have to post some pictures once my building gets a little further along. Keep the updates coming always nice to hear from locals!

Thanks Juiced. I'll post an update about the foam as the weather get colder.

Looks great! I'm using the same insulation in my 32x48x12, 2 layers of 1.5". How much propane are you using with the heater? Are two 100lb tanks big enough?

Looks great hake.

Last winter I had the barn doors on so I was losing a ton of heat and really couldn't judge how much propane I used. This will be my first winter heating the space and getting an idea. I do not think twin 100 pounders will get me through the winter. I think eventually I will have to dig a trench and bring in propane from our larger twin 250's that also feed our house. The 100's will work for now, it will just be more of a pain to refill them mid-winter when they kick. They are not the kind that can be refilled from the truck, so I have to haul them to my supplier for refill.

Man that looks incredible! Hey Natty, I commented on a another post and you directed me here for your build photos, I appreciate that. A couple quick questions for you: with that 12/12 roof pitch, how much width did that give you for your loft area, and what is the ceiling height in the loft? Also, do you have any photos of inside the loft? I just got a quote for mine but with an 8/12 roof pitch. I'm curious how yours looks with the 12/12 on the inside.
