Westinghouse 2GA Compressor Rebuild/Refinish Questions

Picked this up recently and I'm just getting started on tearing it down for a bit of a reseal/rebuild/refresh. Overall it is in great shape with silky smooth bearings in both the Westinghouse compressor crank and the old Wagner motor. Built pressure slowly but surely, and I'm sure the valve rebuild/general reseal should help improve it.

My question to you guys is about the cleanup. What can I use to degrease(oil) the crank case and remove the junky green paint someone added at some point. Just poking the paint with a pick causes it to flake off, so it doesn't have much adherence to the original surface, but I would like to remove it without messing up the original paint and that great old Westinghouse logo. Thoughts?

Already removed most of the plumbing:

De-greaser and a car wash for most of it. You could wipe clean and mask off the logo and intake / exhaust ports. Clean the logo by hand, until you determine how durable it is.

Also having a bit of a problem getting the intake valve apart. It has a pinned castle nut on the backside from which I removed the pin, and it looks like the entire valve face is threaded back into that castle nut. The issue I'm having now is how to grip the valve face while unscrewing it. Anyone have any idea what 5 point bit I need for that?

Do you have any pin spanner wrenches. That should do the trick to hold the backside of the valve while you take the castle nut off.

I have one in the mail now, it took a little bit to figure out the name of that tool. Much appreciated however!
