Rebuilding a Westinghouse 3yc air compressor.. thing is a beast starting this If anyone has any ideas or thoughts and if anyone have any questions regarding the Westinghouse compressor which I love the way they are built and made.. I’m finally getting ready to put her back together I got the pump completed for top to bottom and it was a tough clean let me tell u.. here’s some pics of the journey so far

Nice job so far!! Love it. In the 5th picture--which I'm assuming is one of the heads. Looks like a P.O. used ordinary motor oil in the crankcase instead of compressor oil.

Just wanted to update I finally finished and just got it started using vfd.. she’s a beast have to pipe in line now but I used a morphorn 7.5kw cheap amazon to run the 3 phase 7.5 at low voltage 50hertz

I do have 1 question so this compressor doesn’t have a in tank check valve cause it unloads at the compressor head now would you suggest putting a check valve where air comes from my discharge aftercooler Line into the tank which I have done or does it defeat the purpose of this type of compressor system? Been trying to decide if leaving it is a good or bad idea
