Hi,

Westinghouse Tech support is VERY DIFFICULT to get to - I have a simple question and hope someone on this forum has a similar generator. I bought this last December - it's the Westinghouse 9500W / 12500W peak gas powered unit. Hanging from wires under the handle face was a metal plate with a "CHOKE" sticker on it and a capacitor mounted to the plate. I haven't had time to really look at it - only starting it every 14 days and running for about 5 minutes. Today I did - and believe this mounts between the carb and the air-filter box (I haven't taken that off yet to look). It has the "automatic choke" - right now this thing toggles freely - I am missing a return spring to it - I don't know what it looks like or where it mounts - but it MUST have a return spring of sorts. (crappy QA by Westinghouse to ship as such IMO) Hoping someone here MIGHT have the same generator and can take a picture for me? I'm trying to get in touch with Westinghouse tech support - no luck, getting redirected to some T.V. / monitor support line :( - Thx - John

Picture of the plate hanging (I just threaded it behind the fuel line now - was hanging down front 1/2 way down aircleaner)

Picture of the auto-choke - see top post has a groove in it assuming for spring mount?

So I mounted it - goes between the carb / air cleaner. Westinghouse is allegedly sending me a spring - they sent a pretty sh!tty picture of how the spring looks mounted - maybe it will be obvious. Have been super unimpressed with the availability of Westinghouse support - unfortunately. Once I (finally) did get engagement - they offered the spring - will see if it actually was sent.

Expecting good tech help from a massive industrial conglomerate like Westinghouse, that probably has this contract manufactured, is unfortunately unrealistic today. And if you need parts for it in 5 years, you may be in trouble.

I personally can't remember the last time I saw something new with the Westinghouse name on it.
