Hey guys, I have recently been looking at these trays for a while since they look like they will last a lifetime compared to the hansen ones. My question is for the guys who have experience with them. Can you fit impacts sockets on the 1/2 inch rail? I have the sunex set in SAE and Metric but I have heard some say they will fit but others say they wont. Anybody know if these sokcets will fit? Just want to check before I order them. Thanks for any responses!

I tried my SK 1/2" and 3/8" which both worked perfectly as expected. I didn't bother to check my 1/4". The drive size should be the same whether they are my Craftsman Industrial chromed sockets that I keep on them or my SK impacts kept in their cases.

I like them. Ensure that the thickness of the aluminum isn't too much in any of the three directions before buying them. Map your placement in the drawers before ordering. Decide whether you would like the sizes on or off and how the sizes are placed on them. Overall I'm very pleased with mine and liked that I bought directly from the company instead of Harry Epstein's because of choice of color coding. They are too big for my ideal placement in my particular Craftsman tool chests, though.

I like mine. The 3/8 metric will accept sockets from 6 through 22 which is nice. No problems with 1/2 impacts on the 1/2 rail.

I am very happy with my Westling socket holders. Usually around this time of year they have a sale, or free shipping.

I've always wondered why westling doesnt have a version of their socket tray that protrudes through the socket top like the hansens, it wouldn't be hard to do.

I have a ton of these and love them. I’d recommend getting some that are labeled with sizes for all your sockets, then get a few unlabeled as needed for the odd stuff. It just helps when looking for a 10mm and grabbing the 11 12 or 9 first. Very minor but kind of handy...

These look nice and I love that they are USA made. I have not tried them yet but I think it would be nice to have some type of loops or handles on them to make grabbing and carrying easier?

That's what I did and am happy.

If you want to carry sockets you're better off getting Ernst trays. The only thing holding the sockets onto the Westling machine ones is gravity.

I wish Westling would offer custom configurations. Their current offerings don't match my set sizes. You get about a 100 guys requesting the same configuration, then you can make it a standard production configuration.

Have you tried filling the holes with universal adaptors, spark plugs and sockets et cetera?

My one gripe is that my spark plugs and sockets won't fit in my drawer that all of my other deep well sockets fit unless they are slumped.

Or 1 person willing to pay the setup fee for a short run....

Has anybody come up with a thought or solution on how to mark the empty spots you might have with the westing organizers. After i got mine i found i had a lot of open holes, yes it is a great excuse to hunt fleabay for the missing ones, but i am looking for a way to use something as a place holder until i purchase my missing sockets. Thanks

Clearly there is a market opportunity for faux, placeholder sockets in all drive sizes and combinations of short, mid, deep, SAE, Metric, chrome and impact..... :bounce:
