Westward 80L Parts Washer

Hi there guys, looking for any info or thoughts on this style of washer. I'm looking at buying one that's on for a really good deal, but I've never used a washer of this style before (Used to the type where a basin sits on top of a drum of solvent) so I'm wondering if any of you guys have thoughts/experience with these.

I'm also slightly concerned because this washer is meant for use with water-based solvents, and the guy who currently owns it was using it with Varsol, so I'm not sure if that may have dried out the seals or caused any type of problem with the pump?

Overall the unit looks to be in extremely good shape, he says it's only a year old. My research shows that they retail here for about $570 +tax, and he's selling for $160. Like I said, seems like a damn good deal but not if it ***** to use or if it needs a new pump and seals.

I never was a fan of that style but it works. Its all preference. Thats a god deal if it all works. The seals is a big ??? If the machine was designed for aequous wash then it may not be compatable with solvent based products.

That looks to be the same thing as the standard issuse import part washer you can buy almost anywhere. I gurranty you can buy I brand new one at HF for well under $100.

I'm not familiar with this particular brand, but it looks well built. The thing to be concerned about with less expensive models, i.e., Harbor Freight, is the pump. They may work well at first but in my experience the pumps don't last long at all.

That being said, saw Princess Auto had a similar sized one, it was red, so I'd assume Torin or Big Red. Might be worth comparing, however, I'll assume the Westward one is probably thicker gauge metal and perhaps a better pump.

That westward parts washer looks exactly like my HF parts washer same lid spring same pump set up. Think I got mine for $110.00.
