I've got Gearwrench Metrics and Westward SAE combo wrenches at work. Only problem was I broke the 10mm - stopped ratcheting. Tool room gave me a Blackhawk to replace it. Other than that, no problems, definitely part of my go to tools!

do they compare to your gw? id assume you have taiwan gw. cant find a coo on any site. if they are china i will pass, but the boxing looks like a rebrand of gw to me. the westward website tells me its not a rebrand, but cant ever be sure. ill have to call westward and see.

I work as a mechanic in the Canadian Forces and our tools are supplied to us. We get a lot of mismatched but fully functional tool sets. Most of my experience with westward has been a let down. Seems the open ends spread easily and the ratchets do not hold up to much abuse. I have gearwrench products in my supplied tools at work as well as my own personal tools I've purchased for home use. They are great for the money. I am not one to be brand choosy as I have various different brands of tools. One line up I have used and never had any ill points against would have to be Armstrong!

ive seen coo is china. these are taiwan like my gw. not the same quality polish on the chome, but they look very similar.

the wrench has the size and the westward name and individual part # for each wrench stamped on them. followed by a small upper case j. some wrenches have a dash after the j, some dont. no idea what that means. ratcheting doesnt feel as fine as the gw metric set i have, but cant complain about the price!

id say these get a pass as far as out of the box fondling.

I picked up westward wrenches, ratchets and sockets in 2005. They have been paying my bills since. No complaints with the wrenches at all, nice and slim for tight access and no problems with spreading. Not sure where they were produced.
