Okay, so I'm helping my brother-in-law with prototyping a harmonica holder. He has a duo and a 4-piece band, and he's working with a small company that makes instruments and related stuff.

Anyway, I'm looking for a small, lockable bracket, the kind that pivots around a central shaft and has interlocking teeth on each half to hold the position when it's tightened. What I need is just like what they use for flag pole holders on the side of a house, but smaller. What are they called? I'm sure someone makes them, but I don't know what they are called.

I've seen the same thing used on drum stands on microphone booms, but I've only seen them referred to by trademark / product name.

I bought a couple of those after giving up on a search for what you are looking for. The ones I bought are aluminum so they were easy to machine. I cut everything off of them except the teeth and was planning on using them to make castings from out of ductile iron. I was wanting to make my own zero gravity chair and wanted to be able to make the adjustments to the legs & back support. Those were some of the smallest ones I could find.

A gooseneck bracket wouldn't be helpful? I love these things
