LOL! My parents would kill me for even saying that! They'd probably take the keys to my toolbox also!

nice set up, i didnt get much into auto/boat type tools til i was around 18-20, but by your age i had a decent set up of wood working tools, built my first deck at 15, and reroofed my garage at 13...convinced my parents to rent me a comperssor and a nail gun for the job. then i got them to buy me a sawzall around the same time to demo our kitchen with.

keep it up, and keep working man, not too many kids work today. if you can do well in school and work as well it reflects greatly on your character...plus u can buy a ride in a few years

Ok, I asked because I thought we may have met at englishtown before. There is a young guy who you reminded me of that has business cards for his small engine repair business. His name is Joe as well.

Oh ok. I also do small engine repairs for the neighbors and friends. Usually the tune ups and basic troubleshooting. Boats are better for me because it's something I love!

I didn't start buying tools until I got out of the Marine Corps, 21 at the time.

Didn't start REALLY getting into tools until 2 years ago.

You've got a HUGE start on alot of people.

I meant it as a compliment. It is good to see that you are spending your money on tools, that will help you throughout life. At your age, all i had was an adjustable wrench, 4in1 screwdriver, and a pair of pliers.

Usually I will work on the outboard engines at the marina just doing tune ups and basic work. Like today I had to figure out why an engine was overheating and it turns out the impeller was cracked in the center therefore causing it to not spin properly.

Nice! Does your family own the marina? Just wondering since you generally have to be at least 18 to work in most shops. Great to see such a young kid in the thick of it.

Yes my family owns the marina along with the gas dock, bait shop, restaurant and of course the repair shop.

Just kidding of course, that's 10 times what I have and I'm twice your age. I'm a huge boating nut, and can assure you you're also very lucky to get to work at a marina!

Well on top I have my main sockets which are part of a set. In the second drawer I have all the spares and mixed ones from garage sales. They are my loaners to friends and family.

There are Gold Ferrous bits, Quick adapters for screwdriving, and other bits in one. The Milwaukee is just you standard bit driving and drilling set.

Nice collection. When I was 18 all I had were some cheap hard handle screw drivers, old set of locking pliers, and a few leftover sockets and ratchets.

You'll find out later on that working at a young age is probably the most valuable asset when it comes to having a career. Some of us in our 20's have trouble trying to get pass the "5 yrs or more" requirement.
