I picked up a Ryobi airless paint sprayer yesterday...
Painted the attic of my garage today....

It's already brighter in there....and should be even more so once the drywall is up and the floor down....

Looks good! I'm going to do the same real soon (after the concrete) I was worried about using the sprayer inside, we have used it outside, works well with the white elastomeric roof coating(large orfice/larger pump motor) My little helper isn't so little just turned 16 is 6'3" , he won't need a ladder! tt

Looks great and really brightens up the space.

Where did you get the Ryobi from? and if you don't mind, how much was it?
Thanks

That's my first thought after seeing the photos as well - where's the goggles + respirator or NIOSH-rated dust-style mask?

The finish does look good, though.

Looks nice but please give that little helper a respirator!

Looks great - but shouldn't the kid have used a mask?? Even latex paint has VOC's....

You too?......Already caught hell from the wife....I'm getting it from all sides....

He only sprayed a few sections with primer....not much overspray with the unit....but, yea, he should have had a mask....

Got the sprayer from Home Depot....paid $239.....what I really like about it is that the tip is revesable so it makes it real easy to clear out clogs.

Its looking good. A paint sprayer is one of the things on my looooong list of things I still want to pick up one of these days. It would make a lot of projects much easier on me.

Of course you are aware that you have the "building board of death" with all that OSB.

Are you going to paint the OSB or do you have other plans for the walls? Insulation isn't needed in your neck of the woods?

The reason I ask is that, in the past, painting OSB has never been satisfactory for me. I am eager to know if a sprayed primer might work better (i.e. faster).

And yes, white reflective surfaces are a main component for successful lighting.

Because of fire codes, all the interior walls will have 5/8" drywall on them....so that should keep the 'death fumes' away from me....

Only the front wall will be insulated...it faces south.....and I will most likely insulate the ceiling soon....a topic for anther thread...

Besides....the OSB has been up long enough and exposed long enough for most of the fumes to out gas....and the OSB is required per code....

But I have the good stuff....came from Canada....and we know Canada would not send us tainted stuff....eh..

As for my next trip it's looking like September.....with my luck your river will be covered in ice and snow again.....just for once I would like to see what it looks like there without snow being pilled up 5' on the curb....

I hope you don't feel too bad about my comments - truth is, we where all exposed to MUCH more than that as kids - and I only forget my name and address on odd days!!

More important is that you where obviously using child labourers!!!!!

You were gently compared to the spanking I got from the wife.....I'm hopeing for another tonight.....

I resested letting son #1 help....but he really wanted a shot at it....so a few minutes and he was satisfied.....

It was water based paint.....not VOC's....I'm sure the air around me is more toxic after an afternoon of chips, salsa and beer....
