WHAT ARE bearing buddies?

Ok so i hear it all the time but, WHAT ARE bearing buddies exactly. PICTURES would be a HUGE help. How exactly do they assist the trailer? Break it down for me people! Thanks

Wrong Forum, But My understanding is they keep the Bearings lubed by forcing grease Inside.

use google, they keep grease packed around the hubs so your bearings are lubed all the time. They usually have grease zerk fittings.

I worked for a boat dealer in the late 60's and the bearing buddies we installed were for boat trailers. They replaced the outer bearing caps. They were clear plastic and filled with oil, so when you put your trailer in the water the bearings would be protected.
