Here is a thread for the Snappy's, I used to be a Snappy, so now most of my Snap-on tools are gone, and other brands have took their place, what did they have, that really is better, and I mean better for real. I have seen this.

1)Snap-on has the best tool box collection, and the most desirable configurations

2)the re-labeled pullers are very good, and they have the biggest specific application puller selection

3)They have a few more specific tools than some i.e. USA made e-torx wrenches, and odd ball socket sizes, not all brands have still in USA.

The above is all that I have seen, that Snap-on does soo much better than other tool companies. For all the other basic stuff and re-labeled shop equipment, I don't miss any of it. I was fond of the old style hard handles they did away with, but nothing else leaves me with longings.

He is a chance for some of the Snap-on advocates to show off what is soo much better and why. Try to stick to fact, not preference i.e. I prefer Cornwell wrenches over Snap-on, it's just my opinion. What is soo good it is worth the money, over anything else. I posted my three areas, I believe to be true, despite my SO history, and general lost faith in the brand.

For me Snap on makes the best flare nut wrench and flare crowfoot wrenches. They don't spread, and they grip the fittings well.
The gold colored heavy duty Torx bit drivers seem to outlast all of the other brands I've used. The Snap on #2 phillips blade seems to fit automotive screws better than any other brand. The radiator hose pick seems to have the best combination of strength, tip thickness, and blade angle. The Snap on 4850 series 1/2 drive cordless impact is the best in its class. It's a short list but, just my thoughts.

I like Snappy's locking extensions.

I have always liked their Hammers, but I don't know if that counts since technically, they are Trusty-Cook.

I liked their 1st GEN Soft Grip Screwdrivers. (The ones still under plastic and unused will be the most collectible since they have stopped making them and only made them for very short time)

Without a doubt, their flare nut wrenches. (Try to find some old Kobalt if you can)

I like their ratcheting screwdrivers. Nice, strong and dependable.

Their flex sockets are bar none along with their universal joints; next to that would be their ratchets.

As far as wrenches go, I like their wrenches but I also like Cornwell wrenches too.

The crows feet are good, I still have a 3/4 and 7/8 that I use with a long extension and big ratchet for tie rod jam nuts, on cars without wrench clearance. They seem to fit snug, I can say the same for the Proto ones I have also, but the price is about the same, so they are both worth the money in my book.

I kept some universals, they are "finished" you cannot see the pins, they have the best selection of flex sockets, even in torx and hex, but I would limit my spending to the sizes I use only, not the whole rail.

Ratchets, screwdrivers, ratcheting screwdrivers, hex drivers, universals, and believe it or not I love the hex bits that come in the ratcheting screwdriver sets.

Snap On's best tools imo are their combo wrenches,Impact flex sockets are more durable than the cornwell and mac ones I have. flare nut wrenches and the chrome sockets Ive had other brands shatter using my 3/8's impact while my snappies take a beating and the only time i did break one it just cracked a little

I like alot of their tools, and I would guess about 50 to 60% of my stuff is from them, but if I had to buy everything over again, the only thing that would have to be Snap-On is the angle wrenches and flare-nut wrenches. Also I really like the old hard handle screwdrivers. I might have to add my new FAR7200 air ratchet to the list, but I haven't gotten to try it out yet so we'll see.

I Like the new screwdrivers with the rubber grips, I their 3/8 fine tooth ratchets, actually all of there ratchets are pretty sweet. I also love there 3/8 and 1/2" cordless impacts. They have nice toolboxs, But i like the Kobalt boxes better, especially for the money they want.

Like stated above i think the chrome universals are the best, they can handle way more than any others out there and are thinner, but they are expensive, if you don't swing a ratchet everyday stay away. I love every wrench they make, top notch but thats just my opinion.

Snap_on for long time has been the trend setters in the tool industry. Almost every manfacturer copied their screwdrivers handles ratchet handles wrenches. Their first or most oustanding is the finsh of their tools is above all in the market for long time.

I like most their socket sets ratchets, etc. Their combination open end box end and flare nut wrenches. Their old screwdrivers with black plastic handles. and the finite socket and wrenches accessotries.

The rest of my tools are from the original manfacturere like K-D, OTC,...etc

I like their Dual80 ratchets, ratcheting screwdrivers, 4-way angle wrenches and the KRSC40A tool "cart". The latter is the perfect box for me.

I really like their pliers. I think my first (of the few I own) Snap-On tools were the needle nose, slip joint and cutters set and I have always thought they were some of the best tools I have in terms of handle comfort and performance.

I think the breaker bars are excellent also. I like the handle feel (the chrome one) and find that even the 24" length does not require super thick steel to handle the leverage, thus keeping the weight and bulk down.

I'll second the pliers, Snap On needle nose are second to none. Those babies grip and don't seem to spread.

It's hard to beat their aftermarket scanners.

After 20 years in service, the support for the original "Red Brick" scanner is no longer being supported for new software updates as of Spring 09
