First one looks like an arbor press, the second looks like a vise that clamps to a work bench.

I see three things. First picture has an arbor press (with some sort of pressing pin adapter in it) and a C clamp attached to it.
Second picture has a clamp on bench vise, missing the washer plate on the clamp.

Is the arbor press useful?
Can it be used for basic auto DIY like bushings and u-joints?

Unless my sense of scale is just off, that arbor press looks pretty small to be doing anything automotive with.

The romantic hills of central Umbria, Italy,
A lot of those presses are also set up to set rivets and grommets. Usually see them on eBay a "Brake Rivet Tools", tho they're more commonly used for tack (as in horse gear) repair. Pretty common around the farm, and you see them occasionally with old car hobbyists that do their own brakes...

The bottom is a clamp on mini-vise - I use mine as a 3rd set of hands.

Based on other GJ threads, it seems like arbor press is just for small stuff like bearings, and for auto stuff you really need a 20T hyd. press.
