Can anyone tell me what these discs are for please?
They’re 7” diameter, have a small 5mm dia hole in the centre & are about 2.5mm thick.
I thought they were cutting discs (similar in idea to the small dremmel type discs) but am not sure what type of tool they would be mounted to??:dunno:
Theyre an open ‘mesh’ type construction which Ive tried to show in the second pic

Would they be for steel, stainless or perhaps stone/concrete? I really havent a clue & hope someone can tell me

& a close-up of the constuction

they used to sell them on t.v. they will cut any thing, according to the comercial, they used to come with a bolt to put them on and them u would put them in your drill. If I looked for a while I think i have a bag of them that my wife ordered for me and that I have never used. Good luck....Rich

Thanks for the replies.
Givil Reggin - I did think that the may have used a backing pad like that, but then when I remembered the small 1" Dremel discs that I used to have shattering in use, I wouldnt like to be around a disc of this size running at 10,000rpm +
Richard Cranium - ah thats a thought, so it was just a larger sized mandrel of the type that the Dremel discs are mounted on? Would there be a guard or shroud fitted too?

I have those, they're flexible sanding discs. They look similar to the universal sanding disc. I love them. I use them to do bodywork on cars, specifically grinding down rust. I would recommend one in a heartbeat. Think of it as a hybrid between sandpaper and a grinding wheel. I have been using them for the better part of 15 years. Just get an arbor and mount it in your drill and have at it. It's nice because it follows the contours of the vehicle, and if you have a deeper spot, you can use more of the edge to grind down deeper. Careful, as it will cut out body pannels if you so desire.

*100% do not need a backing pad
