What are these gray tools?

I'm guessing these tools were spray painted, but i'm curious to know what they are? I can't identify them... and also, wonder why they're painted.

11:18 - 12:18 are where the two i'm questioning are...

The ladder and the support brace in the background are painted the same color.

Maybe to hide the manufacturer identity for use on broadcast TV? All the cooking shows put fake labels over the food products so you can't see the brand.

i noticed further in the video the hammer and the wire stripper are gray as well, but as for the tools, still unknown.

The top picture of the drill is a Makita but can't say for others how weird but I'd say the one comment is correct about broadcasting and advertising. The tools are ruined lol?

It's also used to help identification in a school environment........ this shop class instead of the other shop class. especially in a trade school.... or if you go to a job site where every one else have a similar tool as you. Easy to wipe off a marker, hard to wipe off all the grey paints.


As far as ruin the looks/tools.... it's not the tool that makes you a great tech. Usually it is not in most cases......
