What are these MAC sockets for? Strange designations.

While sorting through the tools that came with a used cabinet I found a set of 1/2" drive, 12pt, short MAC sockets. They run from a size designation of VM 32-2 for the largest, about 1-1/4" down to a VM 10-2, about 7/16. What do the designations stand for?

Also, I found some wrenches with unusual markings.

1. a Snap On combination stamped "WOEX 70 USA 5" and the open end is marked 1-BA, measures .369"
2. a Britool offset labeled 5/16 BS 1/4W on one end (about .606") and 3/8 BS 5/16 W on the other side (about .535")
3. a small Craftsman open end marked 1/8W on one end (.352") and 3/16W on the other end (.459"), no other markings

I imagine they are specialized wrenches but for what?

I'm going to take a guess that the sockets are metric & not standard. The 1ST number is the size in millimeters. The -2 is because they are 12 point sockets.

The wrenches are british standard/whitworth.

Dah, don't I look like idiot? I thought I had checked them against my metric set and they didn't fit. Must have been tired at the end of the day, of course, you are correct, they are metric.

V is 1/2" drive, M denotes metric, nn is size in millimeters and -2 is 12 point.
