I found these three pieces in with some machinist tools I bought at auction. I've never seen anything like them before, but figured someone where would know their use and application. They appear to be interchangeable anvils for an inspection gage of some sort?

After some more thought, I believe these would be used with a snap gage as a go no-go measurement. The anvils are adjustable and could be set to a range for inspection. Still not sure if they are part of a larger gauge or tool given the opening in the end?

Are there bearings in those ends? Do they rotate? Or are they fixed?

If they rotate, I'd guess some sort of follow rest.
If they're static, I'd guess some sort of form tool.

I'll suggest they aren't even machinist tools but rather something the guy was working on. They look like swing away booms or similar.

Not bearings, just static anvils with a slight dome shape. The set screws allow for some adjustment inward and outward.

Never saw those specifically, but with a domed end that can be adjusted for position, they look like fixed snap gages for an ID rather than an OD. No idea if anyone ever actually made those though. The extra bore on there might be for a handle.
Just a guess.
