What are these things?

After my folks passed away, my sibs & I cleaned out the house. I grabbed a bunch of my dad's hardware and tools, and these were included.

Does anyone know what they are / are used for?

Me too, they are the least expensive cabinet door friction catches. They are to keep the doors closed, but not keep anyone out.

Light weight, adjustable, universal, etc. They were on everything in the 50s. Haven't seen them sold recently but didn't really look for any.

Well, my dad was born in 1919, so they are likely FROM the 50s. They will be perfect for my cheepo cabinets in the laundry room until I can build a nicer set.
