I saw these for sale locally. Any idea what they are worth?

Whatever people are willing and able to pay. :)

Not tryin' to be a smartas$$ but it really does boil down to what people want and what they can afford. In economics they call it "demand."

The Ridgid is Chinese but the Columbian looks nice from a distance. Like Steve, another way of putting it, if you are going to use that 6" Columbian for your own use and need one, I would spend more then if I was a collector or trying to ture it for a profit. One thing I know, those are "T" style and very hard to find and not a breeze to replace. You really have to know the condition of the jaws. They look nicely squared out. I would go $100 if that Columbian is in real nice shape. Thats just me.

I agree with autopts. Come to think of it, IF that Columbian is truly nice, I might go another 40-50 bucks because of that fabulous post it is mounted upon.

$100 for the Columbian with the stand seems about right to me. Use the bent handle as a bargaining point.

Isn't the Ridgid German?

Might be right Mitch, it could be. I wouldn't buy it. That flimsy little swivel handle and the top of the anvil/ travel bar has that add on piece of hardened steel makes it look cheapie . I guess it might make a nice home shop vise if the price was right.

Yeah, you're right, Rich. I didn't even look at that handle. And I have to admit that the wonderful stand is clouding my vision. I would rather have that stand than the vise (already have several vises, so now I am picky when buying vises, and only want really nice ones, really cheap). That stand would be NICE for a grinder, buffer, vise.... Lots of applications for that.

That stand is awesome. Due to the bent handle, make sure the jaws aren't "sprung", although they do look pretty squared up from that one picture...definitely give it a good once-over and unscrew it all the way and back again to check the play of the screw and overall smoothness. Good luck.

I would go even a little over $100 due to the stand. It seems like there are a lot more vises out there than nice stands. One if these days I'll have to make myself one.

C'mon now; a Columbian 506 is an $800 retail today and you guys are wondering whether to spring for $100 on a heavy duty stand?
