What are these worth?

Here are some items that the widow lady next door wants to sell. Can someone give me an idea of what they’re really worth? This is my neighbor and a widow, so I want to give her a decent price for the items I want and a good idea of what the other items can bring her. I want the jack and vise. What’re the drill press, compressor, and power washer worth? Does anyone want the other items? Thanks in advance for your help.

I'd say $20 on the jack if working good and no more than $20 on the vise. It's an import.

Yeah, everything has sat outside, or in a free standing lean to that only had two good sides. The drill press quill spins but doesn't move up or down. The jack still works, though it was sitting under a trap for a long time. I'm assuming the compressor and power washer work.

Condition really kills all these, plus they're inexpensive to start with.

That's about right for this area too.
The drill press appears pretty rough, might be tough to get $1.

Agree with this.. or maybe $100 for the lot if the pressure washer doesn't work and is repairable. $200 if it works.. This is presuming the drill press, grinder, and air compressor all turn on and work.. If not, scrap value it is....

Agreed... The drill press is the only one that would hold any value for me at all. If it runs but won't move up and down I might give $20-30 for it depending on my mood and that's just because of the age. I love old tools that were obviously made without all of the ridiculous safeties our new stuff comes with.

But then again I'm a rebel...

I wouldn't even offer on the rest.

I agree. No more than $200 for the lot and that's if everything works. A little cleaning up is fine but replacing motors is out of the question. And that would be doing her a favor. The rust is killing the value even if it all works.

Like other said .. the drill press personally would be the only thing I'd be interested in. The one thing that the pressure washer engine has for it is it"s cast iron i think .. its a IC Briggs .. those are great engines .. I'd keep the engine for a project down the road .. I disagree respectfully with maxpower, i would say tops $75-$100 for the entire lot.

I feel the pressure washer is worth the $100 alone as long as it works and has all the parts. The rest is just doing her a favor and maybe getting some useful stuff. Yard sale prices I would agree with the $100 for the lot. No disrespect taken chrispyny. One mans junk...and all that.

As is, I would say $100-120 for the lot. I would be willing to add another $100 if the pressure washer works and has most of it attachements in working condition.

I just bout an identical comp for 50 with nice paint. They really are not worth that unless your time is worth 50 cents an hour. Its got to be a hobby,,, fired it up and all was well then as soon as I got to the job the tank leaked, pressure relief leaked, and after fixing that the pump dumps a rod.
Floor jacks are hit and miss and its obvious pressure washers are the same. There is the crowd that wants to "save" it all but its really a collection of parts that must be reworked or serviced.

As rusty as the compressor is, I'd be about half afraid to use it. Like most of the other members stated, $200 tops depending on the condition of the power washer.

pretty much what ssdave set for prices sounds good to me!

can you trade your handy man skills for this stuff say your time is worth $15 per hour and just have her call you to due some task's for her till you have worked off the $$$$

just a Idea for you to pick up some things that you want and plus your time to fix things for her would be worth more than the $$$,

Actually, knowing her late hubby's reputation, I'm guessing the stuff is barely used. And I'm guesing the problem is that he never put it away, just left it sitting in the yard. I know the vise has been leaning against the outside of the house for several years. He left the wife in a world of a mess.

Give what you can? It's not worth much IMHO but you may have charity tugging at you.

Man, talk about ridden hard... yeah. I'd check the power washer to see if it runs - the motor could even have some utility if the pump were shot. Everything else looks like a restoration project - or scrap value. Even the cool drill press - you're looking at least restoration, probably a new motor.

If you feel chartiable you might offer $100, maybe $150 tops, but that's if the washer runs, the motors all spin, etc. And realize the best use for that compressor may be to transform it into a smoker, before you get smoked by it.

The best thing is the powerwasher, but if it had any water in it and froze, then it's not worth much unless you want to put money into it. For the complete lot, I'd say $150 and no more than $200, and that will be doing her a favor as rough as things appear to be. I'd try to stay around the $150 price though.

What brand of jack is it? If it's Chinese, not worth a whole lot, but if American Made, and in working condition, I'd say the jack would be worth $75 by itself.

I'm only interested in the vise and the jack. I guess I'll check the jack to see where it's made and offer her $40 for both if the jack is Chinese. I'm surprosed that the Olympia vise is Chinese. The jack looks like a shorter version of mine and I've had it over 25 years and pushed it beyond it's max many times (lifting the entire front end of a '56 Ford F-500), so I'm definitely willing to go a little higher if she hesitates.

The drill press is an atlas 42b, broken return spring, missing pulley cover. I cannot tell if the spindle is splined or not. If it is splined you can get a few bucks for the pulley alone. Here's my 42b and it was close to the shape of the one in your pics before I started.
