These are on craigslist and the guy doesn't know anything about them. I don't know anything about them, but they look cool and I want them. Info anyone? He doesn't even know how much he wants for them.

Yup those are from like 30 years ago. The first ratcheting wrench. One direction locks them in place, the other opens it up at the hinge points. They ****.

You would typically see them used by HVAC techs or anything involving hydraulics. They can help from damaging brass fittings and such.

How in the world could you use these on hydraulic lines, they don't open up.

As a ratcheting BOX wrench, they ****.
But these are not box wrenches. They're LINE wrenches. As a ratcheting LINE wrench, they're pretty good.

I can tell you a new set that size is probably about $150 or so. Quite a few places sold them, even had them on the tool trucks.

Sounds about right.
A single 13/16 size is on ebay now asking 40 bucks. (not mine)

But you can ask anything you want to.
A 4 piece set (lightly used) of Imperials recently sold on ebay for $34

As has been said, ratcheting flare wrenches.

If you have the clearance, these work better.

I'm not sure who the original manufacturer of these is, but I've seen them sold as Facom No.70 Flare Nut Wrenches!

I have seen a similar tool manufactured in the U.S. (might have been by Lisle) but I think this style are of European origin.

They are a very specialised tool, but NOTHING is as good as these for the purpose!

I have a couple that I bought to use on a machine tool cooling system. Galvanic corrosion had set in , and nothing but these would let me shift the alloy fittings!

I agree...these are great line wrenches for HVAC applications. I've seen too many contractors grab a pair of water pump pliers and destroy the fittings.

I remember seeing the Cable guy using these on the COAX connections. They worked amazing well in that application.
