What are these

Dumb question, I know they are some type of drill bit but what are they for? I don't even remember where I got them. Thanks

you put those in the hole you drilled into the bolt you broke, then you break that tool and throw the whole thing in the trash bin. Keith

Those are not a drill bit but as said an 'easy out,. You drill a hole into the end of the broke or rounded off item.....bolt, screw, etc. The correct sized bit of each easy out is stamped on the shank of the easy out. You drill the hole, tap the easy out into the hole, apply a wrench to the squared end, rotating the easy out, and in turn, backing out the headless bolt/screw.

This type, "Wedges" itself into the broken screw/bolt by having left hand threads, some work, others not so much. I've had better luck with the kind that have a tapered shape, with 4 sharp ridges, that require a sharp blow with a hammer, followed by turning the extractor with a wrench.
