Curious what these are and what they are used for. They were my dad's. I seen some lettering on them but could not make out what it said. I'm clueless and hoping the vast knowledge people have here someone will know.

They are grounding clamps for use on high voltage cables or equipment. The eye in the end of the set screw is held by the end of an insulated "hotstick" so they can be applied from a safe(er) distance. There would be a grounding cable attached to the copper area and when clamped on to a piece of equipment will short it to ground in case it is accidentally energized.

For making tap offs on overhead lines while energized using a insulated "shot gun" stick and also as said used for earthing de-energized lines. Commonly made by AB Chance etc.
