These came in an auction box lot. The shaft points are very sharp. They appear to be well made, but for light duty.

They look like they could be used for scribing, but remind me of feet off a surveyors laser tripod.

So trammel points they are. Thanks everyone.

I just had to educate myself on these. Although I've heard of trammels before but I didn't know what they're used for. Now I know they're basically used to make your own compass.

Definitely Trammel heads.

Used for large scale layout or marking out on sheet metal or plate.

Typically they are used to scribe a large arc or circumference.

The heads are normally kept in your toolbox and the bar is what ever is available/applicable from workshop stock.

They appear to be Eclipse pattern and were very expensive for what they are.
