For my OCD types out there. We know most people are **** about the care and storage of their tools but what is something that you are **** about.

I know I'm **** about making sure that the screws in the outlet and light switch plates are always horizontal (or vertical) but I stick with horizontal.

I am **** about keeping the house/shop clean and orderly. If something is a mess or out of order I get cranky.

Shoes piled at the front door. I built a really nice shoe rack that hold about 15 pairs of shoes. It sits right beside my front door. I still come in the house and everyone takes their D@mn shoes off and leaves them in the floor. Drives me up the wall when there is 10 pairs of shoes you trip over walking in the door.

Using a extension cord or water hose that is all knotted up. I have to unroll completely and get knots out before I use it.

At work especially, a full 44" wide drawer for the two sets of each, sae and metric wrenches to be laid out for an easy grab. no one can ever seem to put them in order, if their not in order the sets and measurement systems mixed, but most of the time they just get thrown on top.

I have my hammers hanging on the wall in my shop.

I like them facing all the same way.

My kids like to go in and make random ones face the other way.

I hate them.

I have a set of sae and metric wrenches on peghooks in my garage. one of my buddies will always turn one or two over so that the open end points opposite and the box end points out

as much as hes doing this to mess with my OCD obsessions hes just as bad. On top of his tool particularities you cant turn the volume to an odd number on the car, he will always insist or bump it up or down one to an even number.

If you're at my place you're welcome to use whatever you want, that includes any of my ~70 extension cords. I'd rather you leave them laying in the yard or driveway than catch you wrapping them around your arm or coiling them instead of over/under wrapping them correctly. The same goes for my air hoses, just leave them and I'll put them away. :bounce:

It's no good having them all the same direction if they haven't all been screwed in the same number of turns. Otherwise they all have different torques.

Oh God...don't get me started...but my late Dad drilled into me to put tools back where they belong when I'm done with them and I really do like to clean my tools before putting them away.

THIS!!! I was a roadie for a few years. My cables/hoses all will unravel without twists or kinks provided some other *expletive* didn't roll them up. I am very proud though to say that my wife has seen the light, and she rolls everything correctly in an under/over fashion. :)

I coiled my neighbor's garden hose for her. It was in a pile in the driveway, I had to stop what I was doing and coil it neatly.

I'm with 50shoe and ZRX61. Can't stand it if all the bills $ are not in order of denomination and facing the same way. Not to mention a clean and orderly shop.

Which way is that?I think it should not be hanging against the wall.Maybe there is some weird bacteria on the wall that you can transfer on your *** via the toilet paper?

I'm that way with the tv screen aspect ratio, it drives me crazy when other people don't seem to notice it's wrong.I can't watch a movie if it's wrong.

Knots in cords
Leaving "Caps Lock" on, on computers
Ratchets/air-tools not being ALWAYS set to loosen when not in use
Having complete sets of sockets
Manual trans cars not being parked in gear
Leaving your phone/tool/drink on MY toolbox
Leaving wrenches/sockets/dirty rags on oil drains.
Not using my good torque wrenches to torque wheels and stupid stuff.
The inherent horror that is a power-strip.
My inspection stickers being super straight.

General disarray

I do a LOT for organization. "Everything has a home". So if you use a tool, I damn well expect it finds its' home! I showed you where it came from, the drawer; section; holder; space. So why is it on my toolbox, and not in its' home?

However, better it be on top of the box, then god-forbid in the wrong place!!!!

My wife and I went round and round with this one. One day I came home and literally tripped and fell on her damn shoes. I then quietly got up, opened the door and started chucking shoes one by one into the yard. I must have thrown 8 pair out there. She stood there and watched me and never said a word. She no longer leaves shoes at the door.
