While at work filling up an engine with oil for start up, I got to thinking about how many mechanics seem to have their own pumps/hoses/custom set-up for fluid transfers. Seems like there is always that one guy that has some pricey pump or device for when he wants to pump out a tank, transfer fluids from here to there, or just pump oil/fuel. What are you guys using when the time comes to perform such a task? I was using a 1" diaphragm pump that is air driven to pump the drums of oil into the engine, but that pump is for a field tech that carries it in his truck. I know these things sell for around $500 and are well worth it...but I want to see what other options are out there and what ideas you guys have come up with.

I use a reverso pump. Use it for diesel, oil, cleaning sludge and salt water out of bilges on boats, etc. gets used almost every day and has been going strong for a year or so now.
