I kept my DeWalt saw in the case for awhile when I was younger but it takes up so much more space that way and I have to get it off the case to use it. Faster and easier to just wrap the cord around the handle and stick it on the shelf. My HPT never had a case and I sure don't miss it.

Corded Makita, kept on a shelf. Probably 35 years old and has framed a dozen houses. I keep a sharp thin kerf blade on it and it works as good as new. Hit with compressed air every few uses.
