I had an older KD tools set that has disappeared. Looks like the KD tool set is no longer usa made.

What do you recommend that works as a good set for confined areas?

thanks.

from what i can see. that one will only work if there are threads left.
i often see studs where the threads are rusted off.
No sir, it grips smooth studs too. The more you twist, the tighter it gets. It's sort of like a drill chuck in reverse, only the insides of the "gripper" parts are grooved/knurled to grip tight.

The best i have found for pulling studs is http://buy1.snapon.com/catalog/item...group_ID=1247&store=snapon-store&dir=catalog/. obviously it wont work if you brake one off flush but i used this set friday actually to pull exhaust manifold studs on a 35 year old cat d8 dozer that have never been out of the block. broke one clean off but the rest came right out. these pullers grab really well. I also have the type pictured above.
