Looking at making the brave move to set up on my own fixing Euro motors. I want to start small and limit my outlay on scan tools/scope etc. So decided (as I dont have a pot of gold in the back yard) to go mobile and if things pick up look at a premises later.

Here is the dilemma:
Snap on scan tool with scope inbuilt that will need euro keys and adaptors for older obd cars too

or

Auto enginuity/pico

To some it may seem obvious which to go for but I like the ruggedness of the verus and laptops are not particularly easy to move around with loads of cables attached etc but price is most important. I think I could get away with just a scan tool to start with.

Im after some honest opinions of the tools or some other suggestions.
Thanks in advance!

If I were you, I would look at a Solus Edge/Ultra to start. The scope will get minimal use, 95% of the problems coming in can be handled with that. If you really need the scope, look at the Modis Ultra.

And take advantage of the online training for the tools as well, so you can get the most bang out of them.
