What box do I need?

I bought 2 of these boxes pictured below, one for my 50a welder outlet and one to use as a junction box to connect my compressor whip. I'm finishing up my rough wiring and now I'm thinking I may have picked the wrong boxes as I can't find covers that work for them, seems all the covers have corner mounting holes and these don't have anything to fasten them to. Do I need to swap out these boxes or can you point me to the covers that I need, one for my 50a welder receptacle and one flat with a knockout.

The boxes are fine, you went large which is good and got " 4 11/16"" Boxes.

You went larger than the somewhat more common "1900" box, more like about 4x4".

Look for covers for 4 11/16 boxes as link below. Marc

They are 4" boxes, but they don't have any cover plate mounting holes in the corners. They only have centered mounting holes for outlets or switches.

I have been away from the Electrical trade for almost 20 yrs, don't know then.

The 4" covers will be a buck at big box.

So just drill some holes. Marc

Return them. They are 2 device handy boxes and dont have covers for your needs.

You need 4" sq "1900" boxes which will have diagonal corner screw flanges. Even 4-11/16 sq boxes can be used but those covers may be a little harder to come by.

Try raco website and confirm box and available covers.

If they are already installed, and wires put to bed, just needing covers, then just get covers that fit and drill holes if needed.

Looks like you have a 2 gang box instead of a 4 square box. The 14-50 outlet should be able to screw directly to the 2 gang box then get a cover the attaches to the 14-50 such as this https://www.amazon.com/Leviton-83026-2-15-Inch-Receptacle-Wallplate/dp/B000U3I496

I'm having a harder time finding a 2 gang to conduit cover might just need to get a blank and put a hole in it.

Found Thomas and Betts BC72-C-6 might work for the compressor whip

Just buy a 2 gang stainless or even a 2 gang blank outdoor cover and drill a hole in it.

You need a deep 4 inch box, the shallow ones will not fit a 50A recept.
