Just curious what brands everyone "hoards" for their own work, or just their collection.

Mine:

Craftsman
Snap-On
Plvmb
Proto
some Williams/Fairmount/Wright

Don't collect, just buy the brands I like to work with.

Proto, craftsman, wiha, wera are my top brands. But I have allot of other brands if the tool is needed and the quality is good.

Perhaps I misunderstood the context of "collect"

Mine is a collection of tools that I use.

I just listed every brand I could think of off the top of my head for which I have purchased 3 or more tools.

I collect older U.S.A. made tools. I buy alot from U.S.A. tool companys that have gone the way of the Dodo birds, but like some modern tools also. Some of my favorites are anything related to the Plomb / Proto empire, Craftsman, New Britian. Aw hell, I like them all. I do own one Globemaster only because it is a Frankenstien ratchet.

Same here, as long as it's in good shape and USA made, chances are I'm interested!

I forgot about GearWrench. I got a lot of that, and I love every one of 'em. Even if they are Chinese, I haven't found a better ratchet wrench.

The only tools that I “collect” are PLOMB. Everything else gets used. Craftsman WILDE, Whia, Channellock, Wright, Williams, Bonney, Proto, SK, you name it. even a few snap on.

I always keep an eye out for older Craftsman hand tools with the =V= manufacturer's mark, and I also like some old Stanley woodworking tools.

Snap-On mostly. Matco a sizable minority amount, with a small amount of Mac and Cornwell.

I don't really "collect" tools. I use them. I buy truck brand stuff to use it. I don't have a drawer full of 30 ratchets, for example. Needless duplicity is useless to me.

I use all kinds of brands, But I do like to pick up old Ford Tools. I have seemed to find a few wrenches here and there at Garage/Estate sales.

I don't collect any tools, I use them. The one brand that I buy mostly because of brand name is General Tool. I still only buy tools I have a use for, and only the older US made ones.
