I've got a 1970 BOSS 302 that I am rebuilding the power steering on. While I was taking out the control valve a piece of the roll pin got broken off and stuck up into the adjusting sleeve!!!! Any way I had to remove it and in doing so it damaged the threads pretty good, I don't know if they can be saved with a thread saver or not. I can't get another or I would, any suggestions?

Heli-coil should do it, and most instances would be stronger than the original. It'll require you to drill out the original threads, tapping and installing a thread insert.

Thread file is your friend.

Can you start a die on the first thread? You might have to turn the die over, as they seem to be more chamfered on one side. If the first thread is buggered, take a small triangular file and clean it up so you can start your die.

Do you have a small triangular file? Each angle on the file will be 60 deg - the same as most threads. If you take your time and make sure to keep the edge of the file in the root of the threads, you should be able to file the dings out. Unless they're really bad...

if the threads are really bad, then replace the part.
you have a valuable can and are referring to a part that is not that valuable

Part #3783 is the entire assy shown in the drawing in post #6.
That PS assy was typical on many years of Ford cars from the 60-70's. Parts are plentiful in outlying salvage yards. Just check around.
