Unfortunately I just found this website after I had already purchased and custom tinted a 2.5 Rustoleum kit from Lowes. I would have gone with one of the other vendors that post on this site for a little more cash for a better product if I would have found this site sooner.

So does anyone have a recommendations on what top coat to use over the Rustoleum(needs to be available at the big box stores)? I was reading some other posts and there was talk of using Urethane? I'm doing this project tomorrow and I do not have enough time to order anything from the vendors....

Any advice is much appreciated.

If your kit is 100% solids, urethane would be a good choice.
If not, you may want to see what the manufacturer recommends as the solvents in the urethane may be too much for your coating to take.

I don't think a Rustoleum kit from Lowe's has any chance at being 100% solids. There is a Rustoleum solvent based clear kit that you can get at Lowe's that might be your best (only?) option if you have to buy from there.

You can get more options and better stuff (without waiting for shipping) if you have a Sherwin Williams, Benjamin Moore, or other "real paint store" nearby. If so, ask them if they have a moisture cure urethane or something similar that will be compatible with the Rustoleum epoxy as a base coat. Many times, these products are kept in the back and won't be easily found on the shelf as they are not targeted at the homeowner/DIY crowd.
