I finally broke down and bought a code reader. I did my research and bought a Launch cReader CRP123. I bought this unit because I wanted to be able to clear all engine codes, SRS and ABS codes. The CRP 123 advertise that this unit does that. When I tried it on my 2000 BMW, it didn't catch all the codes. I had to use a buddy's Peake reader to read and clear codes. What I learned when I called LaunchTech USA is there software only goes back for 8-9 years depending on brand. So effectively, my car is not covered. I spoke to their tech staff again to see if I could download an older version of their software, but they were unable to provide. It worked well on a 2006 and 2007 car. Has anyone else had problems like mine. What success have you had with a code reader as I am in the market again.
