what color siding and trim?

Hey guys i am really nervous about selecting the color of vinyl siding soffit fascia trim for the garage..... I dont want to choose a color that will look bad lol.

I was thinking like a cream color, or a gray.... what do you think??

The easiest thing to do is drive around till you find something you like...then try to go match it. That is we with no tase have to do

We just went thru this last year.

Try www.certainteed.com. Manufacture of building products. Their siding section has a lot of information and information to download.

There may even be some building supply places around with showrooms. We have Harvey Building supply here in Massachusetts with their showrooms. We saw colors we liked and they gave us addresses to go and view them.

Also, notice the differences in vinly siding. Thickness of materials, lenghts of sections, widths, etc.

We chose Monagram 46 in a forest green (forgot the real name) with white trim.

I put white aluminum soffit and fascia on my garage. Then, I put gray vinyl siding on it to match my house. This way, if I decide to change the siding color on my house and garage, the soffit and fascia can stay. White works with every color.

I have a similar color roof as you do. I went with a match to my house which is a light gray with darker gray trim and black ridge/gutters.

Here it is in primer which is a nice tan color that I almost went with but decided to match my house.

Good news - the weathered wood shingles will match anything - you can have gray, blue, white, tan, clay, or brown siding.
Here's mine with the same type shingles.

You can never go wrong with white. I know, it's boring, but put the color and accents into things that can easily be changed and you'll never grow tired of it. It also opens up the resale market, as there are always people who simply won't buy a yellow/green/gray/stucco pink house.

Even as a visualist and designer, my practice is to keep the big, expensive stuff a very plain color and put the strong personal accents in trim and accessories.

I have the shingles and white soffit/fascia on... I might wait till spring to do the siding on house/garage at the same time, since there is no rush....

Match the house. Although certain realtors will claim a detached shop adds no value....a nice looking one that matches the house always does.

Just went through the same situation with our house. The only thing I can I say is not to be afraid of color, there are far too many brown and white houses out there.

We went with Mastic English Wedge Wood with white corners and white coil stock. What made the job look great is the ZERO use of J channel on the house. All of the windows were formed with the coil stock and the siding run's into it. The end result is a much cleaner look.

We also replaced the roof with Owen Corning Duration Onyx architectural shingles as well.

Will be doing the same with the garage in the Spring.

I agree to match the house. Luckily those shingle will complement just about any color a normal person would pick for a house.

My shop is tan with green trim to match the house and I even had the builder set the roof pitch at 4:12 to match the pitch on the house. The shop roof was white and the house roof was grey but you cant see the shop roof from the roadway so it didn't matter
