I bought Dewalt cause that what we used at work. They hold up great and I'm still using the first drill I bought 10 years ago. It's cheaper to buy a new tool with a battery and charger than just a battery alone, especially when their on sale. Picked up the big kit with a circular saw, drill motor, reciprocating saw, two batteries and charger at home depot about 8 years ago. I still have my worm drive skilsaw, but use the battery power stuff for most projects.

I have a DeWalt DC720, 18V Cordless compact drill. It works great for what I need. Would not mind having a hammer drill though. Sometimes I need more power!

I've had the 18v Dewalt lithiums for a while and love them, however recently picked up the Milwaukee M12 driver. I use the M12 for general use most often, and it's battery life is unusually fantastic. I've been on 1 battery with very light use for over 2 months already and it's still got some juice left.

If I had the money, it would go to a Hilti though.

Does anyone have or used a Matco 14.4 volt MCL144DDSL cordless drill ? Just wondering how they compare to the latest Snap-on offerings. I have the 3/8" impact MCL144IWHO which has been a great tool, so with already having 2 Lithium Ion batteries, I'm thinking about investing in one.

I got two sets of 18v lithium-ion impact driver and drill

1. Ridgid
2. Milwaukee

I like Milwaukee better bc of the battery construction. It seems like fewer parts and lower profile. The ones I got, Ridgid uses E-Moli batteries and Milwaukee uses Samsung. They're all made from different country, Canada, China, or Taiwan.

Ridgid has made three revisions to their battery circuit board. First and second one is w/o the fuel guage. The first version of mine has problem, it keep killing draining my cells and damage them. I can't tell which version is which but the latest one, 3rd version, with the fuel guage is the one I would recommend as I believe it has improvement over the previous two.
