Sorry for not having a pic but my camera battery is dead but outside of my garage door screwed to the bottom side of my wall(exterior).
I have this black puck size/shaped object that in the dead center has a hard what looks to be like a button that stcks out of it, but when you push it it does not go in. The only thing it says is "scancoder". I can unscrew the top of it and it has 3 wires, 1 red 1 black and 1 white. What could this be... it was there when i bought the house....

It is a contact reader for your water utility, the one in the pic is a wirless reader of either drive by reading or tower reads.
