No idea what the first thing is, but it looks neat and everybody should have one. Let us know what it does.

The second thing is an instrument that measures torque. It's not a torque wrench. I've used one of those as a measuring instrument in a quality control lab. Not sure of any uses for it around the garage.

Haha, that there is funny

I have used a torqometer before for measuring rotational torque of pinion gears when rebuilding differentials. Thats what i will use this for. I already have a 1/2" click torque wrench for normal stuff.

You put a socket or something on it and just read the meter? Why not use a torque wrench?

It IS a torque wrench! Show me a beam torque wrench anywhere near as accurate, or a clicker type torque wrench that will tell you torque on 200 fasteners and get back to me.

So you use it to measure the torque on 200 different fasteners to verify that they are tightened to spec?

OK, sorry, I just saw a better picture of it and saw the drive. I used a torque meter that looked very similar but was not made to use as a wrench.

Last night I picked up the three snap on torque wrenches that I bought on ebay. I got the 3/8" electrotork, and 1/4" and 1/2" torqometers. All three work great! In fact, the 1/4" torqometer is brand new. Got all three for under $150 delivered. New they would have cost about 2 grand :D
