A load of tools this year as follows

1/4" drive palm ratchet
four piece pry bar set
Punch and chisel set
Welding pliers
Five piece engineers files set
Sharks tooth wrench rack to go in the tool box to organise the wrenches

all of the above are Sealey Professional

Large Siegen imperial spanner (wrench) set up to 1 1/4" This means I can chuck some of my older ones into the tool roll to go in my car.

19 piece Draper soft grip screwdriver set. This is to go in my DIY tool box for house work rather than car stuff as I try to keep the two seperate as its a PITA having to drag stuff out of one set of boxes to take it over to France and my DIY screwdrivers are showing their age, being somewhat mismatched and incomplete as some have gotten chewed up or even snapped over the years with the odd one getting lost.

So all in all not a bad haul, now if I could only get to my tool boxes in the garage for all the **** thats been dumped in there i could even put them away!

hahaha only time will tell
like i said before i wasn't that impressed by those czech made weras , the steel just ain't that good in my opinion

just looking at those crescent ones i am certain that they must have made the Stanley Australia ones at the same factory because they were identical 15-20 years ago or so, before the stanley ones started coming from Taiwan.

No , they're like the weras in that the COO is not on the driver , although at least the COO is mentioned on the outside cover 3 or 4 times.
http://www.cooperhandtools.com.au/PDFs/2010 Hardware .pdf
those screwdrivers are on page 14/15 of the catalogue.
I also like the lufkin tape measures on page 31.I have the premium model 8M x 25mm width , good quality , says australia on the tape as well as the outer casing. The one i have is metric only but they do make one with imperial markings i think.

Condolences, I used to work on them ;)

Thanks :p

At least I'm equipped and prepared to wrench on it myself. I know they had their quirks but there's really no other vehicle that even comes close to driving a range. It can't be worse reliability wise than the two diesel chevys (01 & 02) i had, where injectors, water pumps, and transmissions seemed like they were a regular maintenance item (ie replace every 50k).

That being said, I'll probably be getting some range rover specialty tools for every other holiday from now on lol.

I gave my now wife the ultimate Christmas gift two Christmas’s ago. I married her in the house we built. We haven’t exchanged gifts since our son was born, due to financial reasons. For the first time we had a babysitter and went out for our anniversary. We went to a movie and the only restaurant open, a Chinese buffet. From 2:30 –6:30 this morning I was projectile vomiting from food poisoning. Not a great Christmas for me.:puke:

Yep. Darn It! The bit sets are made overseas! Oh, well. I guess I better be more careful when selecting tools. I thought all Allen tools were made here.

jakeb-Score! Looks good.

fflintstone-sorry to hear that, man. Hope ya feel better.

I bought myself an SAE and metric set of gearwrench flexible ratcheting wrenches for $45 a set.

Aside from that I got a few holiday Husky "specials" from HD. Might as well just keep them, wouldn't be much store credit exchanging them.

We kept X-mas simple this year. Just a couple small presents a piece.

I always try to pass on any breaded or fried items at a Chinese buffet. Didn’t help last evening.

I'd really like to know what you think about that welder after you've had a chance to use it. That same model is on my short list.

Wife's parents got me a compound miter saw. Totally cool and I love it, though awfully convenient timing considering my wife just made a construction to-do list around the house. Things that make you go "hmm..."

There are some reviews posted on here that convinced me to pull the trigger (convince my wife?). It'll be a while before I get the $$ for the 220V wiring and the gas.

hahaa....someone else suggested that too and I quickly verified that she was going too....and she loves my tools more than me it seems because she knows she will never need to hire another contractor or mechanic again....if nothing else I got job security with her...lol

In the tool line, a SR936 1/2 drive Snap on ratchet which has "USA" stamped on it. The Finish is nicer than the new premium Craftsman ratchets. I know some don't like pushbutton release ratchets but I do.

Also a 7 piece Craftsman tamper proof Torx set.

My g/f and I decided that instead of buying each other stuff, lets buy toys to give to kids in the cancer treatment center. This was best feeling i have had in a long time. The recipients and their families were grateful. I am still smiling over it.

Good for you. FYI - Penny Arcade does a charity drive every year called 'Childs Play' where toys, games, etc. are donated to children's hospitals.
Here's a link: http://www.childsplaycharity.org/

It's a big deal - they have been doing it since 2003 and it gets bigger every year.

I was very fortunate this year. I bought the red hard handles for myself, my parents got me the F80 and S80, and my wonderful girlfriend got me the blue hard handles and the creeper. :bounce:

Anyone have a navy blue SDDP63 they want to get rid of????

I think either my overshot or I undershot for gifts this year.
She bought me a couple sets of clamps, a whiteboard for the garage, and a gas/charcoal duo grill.

I took some of my Christmas/birthday $$ and grabbed a nice Craftsman folding miter saw stand and a Hitachi 12" sliding compound miter saw to replace my Dewalt 705 compound miter saw.
I'm pretty happy with the holiday booty ;)
