Put my cart together and started to load it up. It should work fine for me.

My son and I took the Xmas lights down off the house and hung them in the garage. (Five 1X4s with the lights permanently attached. Well, semi permanently; these board are on their third set. All LED.)

I swept the shop floor and moved some machines around for better use of the space. It was time to get out the Shop Vac and pick up the dust. Someone had put the Vac away with about 10 kilograms of wet mud in the tank. The filter bag was destroyed and the air filter was totally clogged.
I drove to KMS Tools to buy new filter media and on the way home the Cummins Engine started to buck and run irregularly and then the engine stopped. I was doing 120kmh and I was able to coast for about 2 kilometers to a safe drive-off. Mundie's Towing picked my truck and me and I was home in just under an hour and $133.18 lighter in the wallet. I get $50 back from my government insurance because I an a Road Star member.
The worst case sererio will not be so bad, after all I have had many years of good and trouble free service from this 2002 Cummin/Ram 2500.
I will do some basic diagnostics in the morning. I am expecting to have a new injection pump installed.
Oh yah, I did vacuum the shop.

They look better than those at HF and at a better price. Win win!!

I'm not familiar with the HF wrench rails. I'm really happy with these though after seeing people post them here and all the reviews on Amazon. I'll post pics of mine tomorrow. My toolbox is not real deep (and I don't have enough wrenches to fill all the slots) so I cut them down to fit (lost about 4 slots IIRC). They were easy to cut and I really like how they fit / look. I think my drawers were only 10-5/8" deep.

I recently moved back to my hometown, and live in a cabin on my folk's place. I'll be building a shop & house this spring, and am sharing shop space with my dad for now.

His shop was a much bigger mess than I was aware of. It's hard to walk becuase of piles on the floor - tools, materials, empty storage systems (oh, the irony). I've been helping him get it cleaned up the last month or so. We built a metal storage rack to organize the full length sticks, and shelves to get a pile of scrap metal off the floor. A shelf behind the MIG, TIG & plasma. Replaced the wheels on the gas welding cart so it can be moved again. Making space for the powder coat oven and sandblast cabinet... it goes on and on.

I must admit that I'm also part of the problem. I put my woodshop into part of his shop many years ago when I moved out of state, and it's been in storage for waaaaaay too long. When I get my shop built (a few hundred yards from his), the wood tools will free up some space in his shop. We'll put a lift in my shop and can hopefully end the chaos.

It's getting better, but it feels overwhelming at times. But it beats the hell out of work.

Cranked up the tunes!
Wife needs a rolling bucket to move with her when she is sitting on her shop stool and detailing cars.
She wants her Croftgate car cleaning and detailing products, microfiber towels, and polisher products within arms reach.
She likes detailing cars and does know how...what can I say?!?! We go to car shows!
So she thought about a rolling planter holder and a low profile bucket, that rolls with her around the car.
I had a old planter holder but only 5 gallon buckets.
She didn't want me to cut the top (no ruff edges) so I cut the bottom to the requested size and crazy glued the bucket onto the planter holder.
Nice to use the bucket bottom as a catch pan if ever needed...it will not go to waste.

I also bolted the bucket to the planter stand in case the contents weight gets to be too much for the crazy glue and silicone adhesive.
Now just letting it all dry in my 55F heated garage.
It's what she wanted...

Picked up another 6 large 19 Gal Sterilite stackable containers yesterday and spent today packing more of my stuff for moving. Barely made a dent in what we have to pack, but making progress.

The amount of tools and tool boxes and equipment yet to get together will take me another month alone.

Started up the truck and let it run for awhile. Haven't driven it for a few weeks. Been using the car mostly now for everything.

I wanted to start the old Harley, but its still pretty cold and its an old kick-start motor with old style points ignition. The Straight 60wt motor oil in it doesn't make it any easier. Considered it for a moment and then my right knee started protesting so I passed on it today.

A few pages ago (pg #1348) I posted about my Yard Tractor blowing it's engine. I replaced the engine this week and test fired it...all good. I was looking at the snowblower afterwards and decided it also needed some love...took it all apart to clean & lube it...found the impeller bearing was getting really worn out...replaced it ($20)...thought I had too much play in the auger gearbox...took it apart...like new inside...cleaned it all up, refilled with fresh grease...closed it back up...then reassembled the blower and reinstalled it back on the tractor...even got to try it out a bit by scraping ice off the driveway.

Got a couple of things done. Pulled the oil pan and valve cover off of my I6 4.0 to discover the worst sludge I’ve ever seen. No I’m not responsible for this, and am debating if I should clean it or just run it. It ran fine before I got it.

Also got some tubing welded in my rock crawler.

Moved a couple of cars into the new carriage house for the first time. Still some work to be done, but it's a good feeling to have made it this far.

Any chance of seeing some pics of the old Harley? Thanks.

Gave the upper Garage the midwinter floor scrub. Bought this Floor Scrubber off Craigslist about 8 years ago. $200 with 6 boxes of pads. Guy said it was too hard to push.

Got it home and the front Casters we completely destroyed. Got online, found new caster wheels on McMaster and it runs like a champ.

Now off to the wash bay in the basement with my Pick-Up. It needs a bath.

I started again... I got really far refitting my garage then abaout 15 months ago my son put his car in there.. so 15 months later he scraps the car and I have to restart the refit because no dehumidifier and no heat means everything is rusted or rotten..

All good I love doing refits..lol

today was cutting up all the timber I had lying around for firewood to make some space and fitted the new worktops to the cabinets I made over a year and a half ago.

I installed the Oilhead GS mirrors, then wired in and installed the new front turn signals, then installed the under panels for the fairing. Still more to do today, but getting there.

Reassembled the tail lights and turn signals, set up the rear seat for new mounts because I removed the Top Case rack, which was the rear seat mount, and fabbed filler plates for the rack grab handle slots. Now the slot has become the grab handle for passengers.

Now to wait on the fuel strainer from BBY to assemble the tank and install it. Then a test ride.

Started putting the barn stereo together. Not real old stuff but has been put away for a long time. Did not get it all hooked up yet. Put a FM antenna in the attic, working good. WIFI is up and running. Time for a new TV, yes it has come to this.

I made more than a couple trips to the garage to get tools to change what started out to be a shower head but ended up being a broken shower arm that left half it's threads in the wall. A trip to big blue for a new arm and creative use of a tire iron to remove the threads and the shower is functional again. Oh, replaced the door seals on the front door to keep old man winter where he belongs.

Not much to update today, very little progress at all on the garage. Girlfriend is visiting for a few days so we decided the weather was nice enough (about 7°C) to do up a camp fire out back to burn up some excess Christmas paper, scrap wood from the garage and whatnot.

She's working now until about 10 tonight so I'm going to sneak out to the garage, throw on some tunes and putter about for a bit, maybe get the top of one of my toolboxes cleaned up and reorganized.

Finished the High-Lift conversion on the 18x8 to provide room for the lift.
Ran some more pipe to pull wire to the second 240v hanging heater. Picked up a few tubs from HD for organizing.since the weather got much better, I resumed work on the gable end siding above the porch area. The exterior has been 98% completed for many months as I had to be out of town for four months. Shouldn’t be long now to final completion of the gable and trim.

Finally finished a box to store my wife's good flatware. Used recycled barn board as I have a lot on hand. Started by measuring the various utensils and making template blocks to help figure out how to lay everything out. Then made the box, cut off the lid, glued in dividers, made a knob, then stained and added a couple coats of urethane.

Put the 6th (and last) coat of lacquer on a 19.5" x 37" flag, and put the 3rd coat of a polyurethane/boiled linseed/mineral spirits mix on my pallet wood coat rack.

Reorganized the toolbox, found the source of the grinding sound in the rear of the jeep, shook/fished the junk out of an airtank I'm working on, and cleaned up some tools.

Got some time and good weather today. Put the timing chain, cover, rear main seal, balancer and heads on my 383. Also set the adjustible timing pointer to 0°

Then went into Philly to take the boys to see the royal rumble

Weather was warm yesterday (can't say the same for today) so finished stripping paint off a little Wilton vise I'm restoring, got it cleaned, taped, and a couple coats of primer...

Putting everything away for the day and realized I forgot the base! Oh well, I can clean and prime that today...

Played with the laser some more. Made a couple of cool edge lit signs. Also engraved 10 baseball bat mugs. Here are a couple links to the sign. These are really cool in your garage or man cave.
