Got my friend's CNC machine moving smoothly in both x and y axis. Still waiting on parts to finish Z axis.

Then it's time to start installing the limit switches and modifying a new enclosure for the electronics.

I made a mess in the garage mounting these porch lights (on the outside of the garage, so it is valid for this thread!!). Previously there was a smaller porch light with a little mounting block tacked on top of the siding. We bought these porch lights, which of course required larger mounting blocks. I ended up buying a new Bosch Oscillating tool to cut the siding without removing it first. Worked like a charm.

I we were rushed to leave I was cleaning up the sawdust from the project, I made a pretty good case to my wife for my desire of an outside work bench. I think I may have planted the seed.

I threw together a table for the front of my Traeger Jr smoker. No more dragging a trash can over to set stuff on. A couple bends, a couple of turned nuts and eccentric screws and some welding.

I forgot to take a photo of it in the stowed position, but the arm with the red screw head sticking out near the back gets pushed inward and it all swings downward.

I need to make a couple of feet/outriggers to keep it upright now. This smoker is pretty lightweight, so it doesn't take much weight at the end of the table to tip it over.

I mocked up where the light was going to sit, then traced around the edges. Took the light down, and then hammered in (4) ring shank siding nails into the sheeting. Hidden fastener ftw!

Another night of not getting anything done in the shop. My Jeep is still in pieces from last week. I had every intention of getting the water pump installed and have it back on the road today but my wife had other plans. She wanted me to pressure wash some bird **** off of the front porch as well as steps and fence. By the time I got home, strung out the hose, pressure washed everything and then tweaked a couple of sprinkler heads it was 7:00pm and ready to go in and get out of the heat for the evening.

Sure glad I built this cool as hell shop to work in so I can work outside in 100 degree temperatures working in/on the yard.:wtf:

That is why I like not having a wife and don't really want one. If I get home and want to do anything or clean up the garage (or whatever) I can do it without someone else making plans for me.

Don't get me wrong, I love my wife and wouldn't be the person I am today without her but her timing kills me. When I have things going on in the shop is when all of a sudden these honey do's need to be done.:headscrat

I'd have this moment where I walk off and when she asks it about it being done remind her her the power sprayer isn't DNA locked to my fingers.... ERA

My honey do's usually have about a 1 week lead time. The wife is usually ok with me putting her requests into the queue as long as they're somewhere in that time frame. After about 1 week or so, and subtle 'hints' start getting dropped...

I got more work on the CNC machine done last night. I bought a new set of T-handle hex wrenches. My allen key sets were lacking... also sizes missing, so now I'm back to at least 1 full set of both SAE and Metric. Went ahead and got a set of the matching star ones as well.

Started working on moving the electronics for the CNC into a dedicated case. Found out my friend is a better woodworker/welder than he is an electrician. Looks like I'll be rewiring this thing to clean it up a little. Need to find a decent looking on/off switch for the front of the case.

Pulled the interior from a Land Rover Discovery D2 and cleaned the seats up. Already sold to a guy in FL, just gotta load them on the pallet.

Logan I am surprised they cleaned up so well ! Good job.

I'm just wondering if they will ever stop smelling like mildew now, especially if those are the kind that have blow through holes...

Thanks!

If you steam them pretty well, then toss a fan on them for several hours.
Clean the leather, and I usually let them air out for a week outside in the sun when It's not really humid/raining. Seems to eliminate the smell for the most part.

These are by far the worst I've had to clean, I almost just scrapped them with the rest of the truck (parting it out online/local).

There were some mushrooms in the carpet

Definitely had a mask on for this one.

And the thing is, the window that was down, was still intact and just needed to be propped up to prevent this whole mess. I only paid $250 for the car, so I'm not going to complain too much.

I hope I don't take this thread too far off course, but my now-ex-wife used to volunteer me for jobs, then get upset when I was busy working on them!

Ok, to redeem myself, I made a couple of shoulder bolts to fix a front axle on a mower. The originals appeared to have 2" of shoulder, but replacements, when tightened locked the axle from moving. So, I turned new ones with shoulders 2.1" long.

My son and I carefully moved my Honda Valkyrie Interstate out of the shop. There was less than an inch on each side of the bike. MY biggest concern was not touching our 1940 Ford.
I had sold the HONDA and the buyer was here to pick it up.
Now that the motorcycle lift table is clear, I put my KELLER hacksaw on the table and raised it up to seated eye level so I can comfortably finish the wiring.
I am likely going to miss the motorcycle. I have been riding since 1961.

Tight quarters. Sorry to hear you're selling the bike. I don't have the opportunity to ride as much as I would like but I would have a hard time being bikeless.

I would be happy to keep the Honda, BUT, I have had a health issue that has limited my mobility a little too much for our dangerous traffic. I am about 80% able and this is not enough. I got my asking price and the buyer got a low kilometer bike.
There is s motorcycle fatality every week , here. The news reports a serious injury motorcycle incident every day. It is not over until it is over.
I am just about finished wiring a mag switch on a KELLER hacksaw. I am about to leave for Home Hardware for a few CARLON strain relief connectors.

I bought two fifty foot lengths of MADE IN CANADA air 3/8" hose and MILTON "M" quick-connect fittings. Most of the hose in the shop is showing lots of wear and should be replaced,
I need this hose to reach the back porch so I can power a R/O sander to do some surface preparation on a job-box I found on Craigslist.
My wife keeps her recycling in this Job Box.
I bought RUSTOLEUM to match the house siding. The paint will be rolled on rather than sprayed to prevent overspray drift. When the base coat is dry, I will use my PASSCHE air brush to pin-stripe the box, in a darker grey, to simulate the siding.

My son thinks we should have a foam cannon for our pressure washer. They were on sale for 50% off, so I bought one.

I made some aluminum plates for the drill press vice to hold tall square stock. the only problem is when i bolt the plates to the vice the plates go out of square slightly, so i need to figure out whats going on there and grind down some sides of the plates to fix it. i think it may be they a bit too tall because the vise has a lip below where the plates attach that the plates are supposed to be set up tight against, and its kind of a rounded ledge. or i could sharpen up the corner of that ledge with the angle grinder

Pulled the ABS unit out of my now sold R1200CL Custom, and replaced the unit. I had to swap over the electronics package first, then rebleed the whole thing. Not bad, about 1.5 hours work.

Ready for delivery.

I also helped a friend diagnose his starter on his 1150GS. Unfortunately it is toast. The magnets had come loose in the motor. No photos.
